Description

The existing building has been active for more than 18 years. With an average of 957 patients using its installations yearly, a renovation of the spaces in 2012 became imminent.

The current in-patient unit opened in 1995 as a skilled nursing facility. Hospice Clinicians train roughly 755 students each year which is a semi impossible task due to the current layout limitations.

The new building layout uses a central new nurses' station located in the middle of the building, the patient wings spread from this core making them easily accessible by the nurses and doctors on duty. The rest of the facilities such as kitchens, dining rooms and recreational areas are located adjacent to the patient accomodations.
